New Products 

2005 Promises to bring new and exiting products to the AMJ lineup.  From the new colors of Silestone to the best selection of natural stone and stone care products, AMJ will provide a unique variety of products, and  the finest  installations available. In addition, AMJ is in the process of completing its showroom.  This will provide our customers with a visual of what our products will look like installed, in a variety of settings.  Our new 4000 square foot showroom will house complete selections of tile, natural stone, & Silestone. In addition the facility will contain working kitchens, bars, bathrooms, and a dining room. In addition to our showroom, AMJ stocks over 30 common colors of marble and granite slabs that customers may view and select.

Computer Assisted Fabrication

AMJ currently houses one of the industries largest and most technologically advanced CNC installations available.  For those unfamiliar with CNC or CAM, (Computer Aided Machining), it is a very sophisticated and precise, computer controlled machinery that assists in the fabrication of stone countertops, customized mosaics, stone etchings, and almost an unlimited number of practical and decorative applications.  This type of CNC process allows us to meet and better service the demands of our vendors and customers, by utilizing fast and precise fabrication with lower tolerances. In addition to CNC fabrication and edging, AMJ has an experienced staff of custom hand fabricators.  These highly skilled craftsmen have the technical “know how” to master the most complex custom projects with stunning results. 

What is Microban®

Cosentino, the largest producer and distributor of natural quartz surfacing in the world, launches a new era in countertop performance by introducing Silestone with built-in Microban antimicrobial product protection.

Silestone is the first and only natural quartz surfacing with the inclusion of Microban protection which provides a proven deterrent to the growth of bacteria that can cause stains, odors and product deterioration.

Under certain conditions, microbes on an untreated surface can double every 20 minutes. However, Silestone natural quartz countertops with built-in Microban protection, penetrate the cell wall of organisms and inhibit their growth and reproduction. Unlike surface applied coatings, Silestone incorporates Microban protection into the molecular structure of the product during the manufacturing process so it will not wash off or wear away.

Silestone natural quartz countertops with Microban protection inhibit the growth of common bacteria, yeasts, molds and fungi that cause stains, odors and product degradation. Designed exclusively for use with Silestone (manufactured by Kindred), this product is the only one of its kind in the industry today.  “The introduction of the integrated stainless steel sink keeps us ahead of the curve by providing consumers a unique product that is very much in demand.  With this product, we are able to marry two materials considered very attractive and coveted by today's homeowners: stainless steel and natural quartz.   The stainless steel integrated sink rests flush with the countertop, limiting the collection of dirt, food particles and mold.  Through our Silestone’s bi-annual FREE Sink promotions you may be able to obtain one of these sinks free of charge.  Minimum purchase is required and sink models are available on a first come first serve basis while supplies last.

Soapstone

AMJ now offers the beauty of soapstone in addition to our already vast product line. For those unfamiliar with soapstone please read on.  Soapstone is a dense stone closely related to talc and green marble. When mined it is blue or grey. It darkens with age and oiling to a rich, charcoal grey. For hundreds of years soapstone has been used in industry and in luxury homes for counter tops, sinks, and fireplaces. Soapstone, however, holds some advantages over both marble and granite. Soapstones claim a healthy resistance to water, chemicals, and acid.  Soapstone is stain resistant due to it’s non-porous composition. With expert fabrication and install, seams can be worked so tightly as to make them almost invisible.  Soapstone is an especially good choice for fireboxes, hearths, and fireplace trims. Fireboxes made from soapstone can be 300% more efficient than fireboxes made from other materials.  We carry both Vermont Soapstone and Soapstone by Cosentino.
